I used
to be stuck and confused.
After working as a child and
family therapist for seven years and moving across
country with two young children, I decided to stop
working outside the home. I didn’t want to be a
therapist anymore, but I knew I was passionate about
helping women move forward in their lives. I
didn’t know what work would fulfill me and I
didn’t believe I could make the income I
wanted in a helping profession.
So, I decided to stay home,
have my third child, and just experience what it felt like
to be a stay-at-home mom.
For a while, it felt
great. And then, in my third year, something
changed. I began to feel drained…
empty…confused. I felt that an important
piece my self was missing.
I knew I needed to work
again, to expand myself and stimulate my mind, but I
didn’t have good models for how to mother
and work in a balanced way. I
didn’t know what the ideal job looked like for
me anymore.
Fear of the
unknown was holding me

So, I mustered up the
courage to face my fears, hired a life coach, and
realized I wanted to become one myself. I
attended a coaching program to transfer my therapist
skills to coaching skills. I spent
hundreds of hours researching motherhood, identity
and work, and began helping moms with their life
balance. And I thankfully ignored the
naysayers and got my first book, The
Balanced Mom Raising Your Kids
Without Losing Your Self, published.
